Petra 2023 Retreat
What is the cost of faithfulness to God? For Esther, faithfulness meant pleading for the lives of her people before the king, which could have cost her own life. Likewise, Christians today face the difficult task of remaining faithful to God and His word in the face of a hostile culture. Like Esther, they must make the difficult decision to obey rather than sit back passively. During the 2023 Petra young adults retreat, we will study the book of Esther and Biblically address the implications for us today with teaching by clergy and lay leadership from throughout the Gulf Atlantic Diocese. We will learn together, worship together, pray together, and relax together at Lake Swan Camp in Melrose, Florida. The retreat begins on the evening of Thursday, May 18, 2023 and ends on the morning of Sunday, May 21, although it is flexible for students who can only attend part of the weekend. It is open to all young adults age 18 and above, and costs $100 per attendee although scholarships may be available. For more information, contact Hudson Horne at firstname.lastname@example.org.
