Our Equipping the Saints Weekend, offered annually in partnership with the Charles Simeon Institute at St. Peter's Cathedral, is designed to train parishes across our diocese in areas of ministry that have been identified as strategic opportunities for growth. That process involves feedback from parishes.

Participants follow a single topic/track throughout the weekend. Those topics follow the Six Marks of Flourishing Churches.

Childcare based on the Godly Play curriculum is available. Some training tacks have been made available as online courses through the C4M Online Classroom (or "LMS"). You can access online courses you've enrolled in (or which someone has enrolled you) using the button below.

Safeguarding Our People

The Diocese is implementing online training for churches and ministries to use in training employees and volunteers on the Safeguarding Our People policy. Course 1, Child Abuse Awareness Training is now available in the Center for Ministry's online classroom (sometimes referred to as “the LMS”).

The second course, on preventing the abuse of vulnerable adults, is in development and will be ready in 2026.

To enroll in SOP1, please contact the Safeguarding Coordinator for your church. If you already have an account, you may continue or retake the training (or change your church affiliation) at this link:

Certificate Studies

The Gulf Atlantic Diocese offers a Certificate in Anglican Studies track featuring graduate-level courses in theology, history, and ministry. These courses are an excellent and affordable way for for those discerning a call to ordained ministry as well as other lay leaders to meet diocesan educational requirements, prepare for canonical exams, and enrich ministry within a parish. The Certificate is not a replacement for a Master of Divinity, but is especially suitable for those who have completed a theological master's degree.

Courses are taught by qualified Charles Simeon Institute faculty and offered in a hybrid modality: weekend in-person intensives paired with online work and interaction. Tuition is $350 per course. Apply here to the Certificate Program. Those who do not wish to earn credit toward the Certificate may audit a coarse by applying here.
