Camp Araminta 2022

Araminta - Bp Elect Alex Farmer Teaching - small

Araminta - Bp Elect Alex Farmer Teaching - smallThe Gulf Atlantic Diocese held its 17th annual summer camp, Camp Araminta, in July. It was an incredible gathering of over 250 students and leaders at Lake Swan Camp in Melrose, FL. Camp Araminta was created to provide an intense discipleship experience in community. We welcome students from 4th-12th grade and focus our time on fellowship, outdoor activities, skits, games and crafts, worship, teaching, and healthy rhythms of discipleship such as morning prayer and compline. The camp curriculum covers the topics of creation, the Gospel, community, holiness, and mission, and every student participates in discipleship groups led by diocesan clergy (this year we had 8 deacons or priests from 15 different diocesan churches!). We also had four first-time commitments and a baptism!

One of the best parts about Camp Araminta is that it serves as a leadership pipeline so students can roll into scaffolding levels of leadership following their camp years as a student. We had 110 leaders at camp this summer and 8 expressed a call to ministry.

Please make the commitment to support Camp Araminta next year–mark July 17-22, 2023 in your parish calendar! Send us your youth, your volunteers, your ministry leaders, and your clergy. There is nothing like coming together from across the diocese to watch the Lord move among so many in our diocese through worship, teaching, and fellowship.
