The Diocesan Logo

The logo of the Gulf Atlantic Diocese contains six symbolic elements:

The Diocesan LogoThe Three Crossed Nails invokes the brutal crucifixion of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. At that moment, He was sacrificed for the sins of the whole world completing the work begun with God’s covenant with Abraham and the near sacrifice of his son Isaac.

The Crozier is the symbol of episcopal authority of the Office of the Bishop.

The Wafer and Chalice represent the elements of the Eucharistic feast celebrating Jesus’ saving grace through His Body and Blood.

The Waves symbolize the fact that the diocese is surrounded on three sides by water. They also represent the cleansing water of Baptism and the life sustaining requirement of water for all living things.

The Scroll invokes our Jewish roots and the sacred Scriptures inspired by God.

The Purple background is symbolic of the Royal Priesthood.

The inscription surrounding the graphic clearly identifies the diocese and its constituent relationship in the Anglican Church in North America.
